Differences……

There are at present three recognised ways to go boating on the Broads. Each have their merits, and Boatline does not seek to criticise any of them.

But the Quayside Club is a fourth option. In some ways there are inevitable similarities with other forms of Broads boating, but in actuality it is not the same as any.

So we thought the best way to show you the differences was to list what you don’t get when compared to other forms of boating on the Broads -

When compared to hire-boating, here’s what you don’t get –

  • No damage waivers, or fuel deposit
  • No sign written boats
  • No cancellation insurance, or problems
  • No waiting around at the yard
  • No formalities
  • No extra charge for  “short breaks”

When compared to private boating, here’s the best bits -

  • No boat to buy – no loans to take out
  • No moorings to find, or to pay for
  • No insurance or river toll costs
  • No servicing or maintenance
  • No upkeep or laundry
  • No unexpected repair bills

In comparison to shared-ownership, here’s what’s missing -

  • No financial outlay
  • No share to sell, if you decide you don’t want it
  • No depreciation
  • No long-term commitment
  • No ‘lottery draws’ for allocated weeks
  • No “full weeks only”
